ASPIRE FOR HUMANITY INITIATIVES COMMUNITY AND
DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES IN DR CONGO
Over the past year, Aspire for Humanity Initiatives has made significant strides in supporting
communities in Minembwe, Eastern Congo across four key areas: medical services,
microfinance, education, and youth vocational training.
Medical Clinic
Providing accessible healthcare, the clinic has served over 2,000 patients with a team of 20
medical staff, including 3 doctors and 6 nurses. Services include internal medicine, maternity,
surgery, pharmacy, and laboratory care, significantly improving maternal health in an area
lacking hospitals. Challenges remain in securing medical supplies, solar energy, and staff salary
support.
Minembwe Savings & Credit microfinance
The microfinance promotes economic independence through savings and microcredit, with 231
active members (181 men, 36 women, 14 associations). It has trained and supported 16
community cooperatives, fostering local entrepreneurship
Minembwe School
Despite security challenges, the school provides quality education in Minembwe. Currently, 318
students (200 boys, 118 girls) are enrolled, supported by 26 qualified teachers and a school
feeding program for vulnerable students. The school ranked #1 in the national exams for its
district, with its students securing the top three district spots. Also, thanks to partners, 150
orphaned children continued their education free of charge despite the economic crisis
Vocational Training & Community Development Center
The center equips individuals with technical skills in carpentry, tailoring, and solar energy
installation. Students produced 300 sweaters for local school children, and a former carpentry
trainee successfully launched his own furniture workshop. Currently, 11 students are enrolled,
with training also contributing to school uniform production
Agriculture and food security
Aspire assisted the Minembwe farmers groups in several associations by teaching modern
agricultural techniques and supporting reforestation through tree nursery production and
planting
